The warranty status is unclear to me. I tried the online warranty check for this device and it returns blank (neither yes nor no). The HP-Certified Reconditioned was issued as a replacement for a C309a on which the radio went dead. Yes, that's two dead radios in a row on this model.
I don't know how HP backs the HP-Certified Reconditioned units and can't tell from the online check.
I'd like to find out if there's any way to obtain a replacement part or other HP support on the certified-reconditioned before giving up entirely --- even though I'm sorely tempted to simply conclude that there was either bad engineering or very widespread bad build-quality on this printer. I would give up on this model and it serves as an indication that I might consider switching brands as well. But it seems that I should give it one last try before quitting.
