You may have reminants of the AVG if you did not uninstall it properly. I don't know of any good tools as I am not a Windows fan at all.
If you had other antivirus programs on there in the past and they were not properly uninstalled, there may be reminants from them as well.
I hate to suggest this, but there is always a wipe and reload of Windows....
